What's included in the free plan?
30 tests per month, 1 repository, and 1 user. KIT (the code-intelligence graph) is free and unlimited on all plans, including Community. No credit card required.
What counts as a "test"?
Every time Kerno creates or updates a test scenario, that counts as one test. If an endpoint has 5 scenarios, that's 5 tests. Running existing baseline validations against your code changes doesn't count toward your limit, only creating new scenarios or updating existing ones does.
Can I switch plans or cancel anytime?
Yes. You can upgrade, downgrade, or cancel at any time. No long-term contracts.
Can I try Kerno before paying?
Yes. The free plan is fully functional with no credit card required. Install the CLI (npm i @kerno/cli), authenticate, and start validating. Upgrade to Pro when you need unlimited tests or more than one repo.
What's the difference between Pro and Enterprise?
Pro gives you unlimited tests, repos, and users, with team analytics and CI integration. Enterprise adds SSO and SAML, self-hosting in your own infrastructure, audit logs and data controls, a custom DPA, and dedicated support with an SLA. Pro is enough for a single developer or a small team. Enterprise is for organizations that have security and procurement requirements to meet.
Is there an annual discount?
Yes. Annual billing is roughly 25-30% off compared to paying monthly.
Do you offer discounts for startups or open source projects?
Yes. Qualified open source projects get free usage. Pre-Series A startups get significant discounts.
